Assistive technology

The use of technology to reduce barriers in the lives of individuals with disabilities and to facilitate their academic and social learning. It will address such topics as assistive and instructional technology concepts and terminology, computer hardware, instructional design issues, the use of the internet to support student learning, computer assisted instruction, alternate access to academic and functional curricula, alternative and augmentative communication, assessment principles and practices for assistive technology, government policy regarding technology and individuals with disabilities and funding resources and strategies.
